Biography
Tristan Chenevez started playing the violin in Tahiti at the age 6, at the conservatory of Papeete. He then entered the class of Christophe Bianco at the conservatory of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés.
In 2011, he was unanimously admitted to the CNSMD in Lyon, in the class of Marie Charvet, Nicolas Gourbeix and Nicolas Miribel.
His studies led him to be chosen in 2016 to make the French premiere of the violin concerto by Unsuk Chin, accompanied by the CNSMD orchestra under the direction of Pierre-André Vallade.
Various competitions and Master Classes allow him to receive advice from violinists such as Nora Chastain, Pavel Vernikov, Dong-Suk Kang…
He notably participates in the Mirecourt International Violin Competition in France, as well as the Zhuhai Mozart Competition in China.
In 2012, he created the Chenevez-Dafir duo with pianist Marwan Dafir. Their collaboration led them to be semi-finalists at the Swedish International Duo Competition in Sweden, as well as at the Boulder International Chamber Music Competition in the United States. They have since been regularly invited to perform in France and abroad.
Also very interested in the orchestra, Tristan Chenevez performed as Concertmaster in the Orchestre National des Jeunes du Luxembourg.
He's currently Associate Concertmaster in the Orchestre National de Bordeaux-Aquitaine.
